Soo Il POV

One week has passed. A long one week since the birthday, since I got the birthday presents, and since I last met Jungsoo. In this past week, I didn’t see him at all, not even a glance. He didn’t even call me or sent me any text message. It’s quite unusual since he used to text me quite frequent nowadays. Is he running away from me? Impossible. There’s nothing to run away from anyway. Plus, isn’t he waiting for my answer? Wait. Is he giving me time and space to think? If you really are, it might even take forever, Jungsoo-ah. I can’t do this alone. Haish…Jungsoo is Jungsoo. But what happen to Kyuhyun? I didn’t see that guy either. I still didn’t get any chance to ask him about what happened two years ago. I really need to know the real story. Should I just call him? Or should I not?

“Soo Il-shi.”

“Why are you bringing me here?” Soo Il ask when they enter the coffee shop.

“Mom want to meet you.” He reply.
“Your mom? You should have told me earlier.” She said, fixing her hair.

Kyuhyun just ignore the complaint and ask her to sit at a table instead.

“Can you wait here for awhile? I’ll come back later.” He said to her.

“Okay.” With the short reply, Kyuhyun head to the counter.

Just like he said, he came back few minutes later, with two iced latte in his hands.

“Mom will be here soon. She’s out for some business. Is it okay for you to wait for a while? You’re free right now, right?”

“Yeah, I’m fine with that. Actually, I was also planning on having a talk with you earlier.”

“A talk with me? About what?”

“There’s something. But before that, why did your mom want to meet me?”

“I don’t know. I am curious too. She just asks me if it is okay to meet you. That is why I’m bringing you here.

Soo Il just nod her head, showing that she get that. But in her head, everything is tangled-up. She doesn’t know where to start. She wants to ask Kyuhyun everything but she don’t know which one she should ask first.

“Soo Il-ah, are you okay?” Kyuhyun asks when he saw Soo Il’s mixed expression.

“Huh?”

“You looked troubled. Is everything okay?”

“Ooh…Yeah. Everything is okay.”

“You said that there’s something you want to talk to me. What is it?”

As usual, when he cares, he shows it. Looking at that concern eyes, Soo Il sigh.

“I don’t know, Kyuhyun. There’s too much of something in my head right now that it wasn’t just a simple ‘some’thing anymore.”

“Hey, what happened? What’s wrong?” ask Kyuhyun, really concern. He moves closer to her and takes a deep look on the girl’s face that keeps looking at her latte’s glass since her last statement.

“You know that aside of your friend, I am also a brother, right? If there’s anything you want to share with me, go on. But if you’re not ready yet, it’s okay. Just call me when you need some to talk. Hurm?” He adds later. Beng Soo Il’s friend for this past few months, he never saw that expression from her. The Soo Il that he knows always laugh no matter when. To people who didn’t know her well, she might be a cold person. But to people she close to, that’s not her.

Looking at the girl once again, Kyuhyun can’t bear it and try to asks her what is going on once again but was cut by her.

“I don’t think I can keep it any longer.”

But that was all she said.

“Why?” he ask softly. When he sees that there’s no reply, he ask more.

“Did something happen between you and Ha Nee?”

But, even before he saw Soo Il shook her head, he finally get what is going on.

“It’s hyung, right?” Looking at the stiff Soo Il, he knows he is right.

“Which one should I ask first, Kyuhyun?” Soo Il finally let her voice out.

“The one you want to know the most.”

Soo Il looks at Kyuhyun for a moment before asking,

“You know right?”

“About what?” he ask her back. ‘So hyung has confessed to her, finally.’ He thinks.

“Everything. Your hyung, me and two years ago. Everything. You know it all right?” seeing Kyuhyun nod, she sigh.

“Kyuhyun-ah. Can you tell me what’s going on right now? I’m too confused. I know it is not that big deal actually, but it is to me.”

“You mentioned about two years ago. Seems like hyung told you that was when we first met.”

“Yeah. He did. But that’s the only thing he told me. He didn’t really tell me what happened.”

“So, basically, you know nothing?” Kyuhyun ask, a bit surprised. He thought Jungsoo already tell her everything. But, when Soo Il nod, it is confirmed that he didn’t tell her anything.

“Haish..that hyung.” It is now Kyuhyun’s turn to sigh. ‘Wait. Did he tell her about his feeling yet?’ Kyuhyun suddenly remember the song he wrote.

“Soo Il-ah, what did hyung gave you for your birthday? Because it looks a bit different from what I know.”

“What was it supposed to be?”

“Can I really say this?” he paused and look around before he add,

“A song.”

“That’s what he gave me.”

“But why was the box that big? He didn’t need that size of box for a CD.”

“Because he’s not giving me a CD.”

“Huh? Then? What was in the box?”

“It was a headphone and MP3 player. He put the song in the MP3.”

“Owh..no wonder it was a bit big than I think it should. Soo Il-ah, you said you got the song, right?” Kyuhyun paused and give Soo Il an anxious look. When Soo Il nod, he add,

“Since you said you got the song, I assume you know that he...you know,” said Kyuhyun, contemplating either to say it or not.

“What? That he likes me?” Soo Il just look back at Kyuhyun who is looking at her.

“So you knew. Is that why you are being like this?

“Part of.”

“Why? You don’t like him?”

She did not answer him, but her eyes is telling him everything. Kyuhyun moves forward a bit and pat her head. Letting out a sigh, she gives him a smile.

“Everything will be awkward after this. He shouldn’t have confessed like that. Why didn’t he just say it right in front of me? So that I can respond him right away?”

“Are you sure you’ll answer him right away? When you yourself is not really sure with what you feel?”

Looking at him, again, she let out a sigh.

“I don’t want to think about it anymore. At least not today. I’ve been thinking the whole week. Oh, that’s right. I’ve been wanting to ask you this. Where is he? I didn’t see him at all since the day after my birthday.”

“Hyung is out of country. I don’t know about other days but he went to Busan four days go. Work related. I don’t know much too but he’ll be back either today or tomorrow.”

Kyuhyun looks at Soo Il. This girl won’t be bothered this much about the matter if she didn’t like him even a bit. Knowing Soo Il’s personality this past few months, Soo Il is the type of girl who just say directly what she thinks. If she didn’t like him, she would have turn Jungsoo down straight away. He looks at the lifeless girl again.

“Why? You missed him?” he asks playfully, receiving a glare from her.
