“Soo Il-ah, did you have any plan on going to the library today?”
Soo Il’s hand stop mid air. She looks at her bestfriend who is busy with her hot noodles.
“Library? Why?” she asked, a bit confuses because as far as she know, ‘Ha Nee’ and ‘library’ really can’t be put together.
“I want to tag along.” replied Ha Nee like it was nothing.
“You? Going to the library? What did you eat last night Ha Nee?” she said, and let out a chuckle.
“What? It’s not like I’ve never been there before. It’s our second semester here, my dear.”
“But,
yes you are Ha Nee. Okay, maybe you did once – when I drag you in for
that group discussion.” she said, stressing the word ‘drag’.
“You did not drag me. I walk in with my own legs.”
“Yeah, with your hand glued in mine.” She mumbles.
Ha Nee give Soo Il a deep glare but just for a moment. After few seconds her eyes are twinkling with excitement again.
“So, are you going or not?” she asked for the second time.
“No, I’m not.”
“Huh? Wae?”
Looking at her, Soo Il forehead creased.
“Ha
Nee, it’s not like I’m going to the library every day. Don’t be so
shocked, what’s wrong with you today? You’re up to something again don’t
you?”
Ha Nee let out a fake laugh.
“You
really do know me well, Soo Il-ah. I’ve got a new eye-candy. There’s a
new librarian and he got the look. Oh, and he has a dimple. Your style,
right? A single dimple. You’re going, wont you?” She gives her a
double-jerk.
“I
can’t, Ha Nee. I need to get back right after our last class. You know
that I’ve start a new part-time job two days ago, don’t you? And, having
a dimple doesn’t make him my style or whatever you call it. It doesn’t
mean that I’ll like him."
Ha Nee was mumbling words about what Soo Il told her last time but got cut by Soo Il.
“I said, having dimples make someone look cuter than they already are.”
“Wasn’t that leads us to the same conclusion? You like cute guy. If having a dimple makes him cuter, then you’ll like him.”
Soo Il rolled her eyes. That was a really two different things.
“Yeah,
like I’m going to fall for every cute guy I’ll meet. Never happened
before right?” looking at her watch, Soo Il continued,
“Anyway, Ha Nee, if you still didn’t finish your noodles in five minutes, we will going to be late.”
Ignoring the later warning, Ha Nee looks at Soo Il while saying,
“Yeah, that is you. ‘no romance in my life’. Don’t you believe in love at all?”
“Ha Nee, five minutes!”
Ha Nee give her a glare before bowing his head and finished her food.
Looking
at Ha Nee, she thinks back about what that friend of her said earlier
and without her noticing it, her lips moved and the words just come out
of her mouth.
“It’s not that I’m not believe in love.”
“So?”
“So?” startled, she asked Ha Nee back. ‘What did I just said?’ she thinks.
“It’s not that you’re not believe in love. So what was it about?"
"Oh...that..hurm..." 'think Soo Il, think!', she said in her head.
"How should i put it? Erm... I believe it. I do believe in love. It's just that it doesn't reach me yet..the so-call love." 'what an answer Soo Il...'

“Full stop.” She add when she sense that Ha Nee is going to say something again.

Soo Il’s POV
‘Where are you, bookie? It’s been over 10 minutes and I am getting late. Why are you hiding from me?’
I
check the rack again. 616. I am on the right track. So where’s the
book? This is the problem when you have a big library with a big rack
that needs a ladder for people to looks for books.
“Ohmygod…he’s so hot, isn’t he?” a voice was heard. It was from the other side of the rack.
‘and what was that? Don’t you know that this is a library?’
“I know right? I’m melting…” replied another voice.
The
girls keep giggling and mumbling words that I can’t even catch-up. What
are they doing actually? Do I need to shove those ‘Keep Quiet’ signs
right onto their face for them to realize that this is a library? I need
to hold my annoyance for minutes before I finally found the book I’m
looking for. I take the book and head to the counter.
Okay.
I am late. I AM LATE! So, where’s the person who is supposed to be
here, right in front of me, at the counter?! I look around, in hopes that
I’ll see any familiar face that usually work at the counter.
“I’m sorry to make you wait. May I help you miss?”
The voice behind me make me turn around to face the counter again. And for a split second, our eyes met.
