Soo Il’s POV
It
has been two weeks I have been working for the event. And in this past
two weeks, I get to know Park Jungsoo better. More I got to know him, I
am more impressed by him. Things I said and think about him after our
first meeting, none of them was right. He can be serious at times and
childish at most of the time but he is never a bad guy. I was wrong.
Totally wrong. I also got to know Park Kyuhyun, his ‘secret’ brother. He
is the same Park Kyuhyun that I bump into two weeks ago. We have become
bestfriend after working together for a while. It is actually thanks to
his playful character. It’s never awkward with him. And he makes me
feel like we have known each other for years. Since we are close now, I
did ask him on what he means with things he said after we bump into each
other before, and also about how did he know me, but he avoid the
questions quite well and I still don’t know the answer till now.
I
am quite lucky to get to know the two brothers. The funny brothers.
Both of them are quite similar, but differently similar. They are both
funny, but Kyuhyun is meanly funny but Jungsoo is adorably funny. They
are both kind and caring but Kyuhyun openly care while Jungsoo act
caring secretly. What else? There are many actually. They got same
characters in them but the way they show them are always different.
I suddenly feel the cold on my left cheek.
“Daydreaming?” a voice ask from my side.
Knowing
whose voice is that I look up at him and give him a smile. Handing me
the canned drink that he touched my cheek with earlier, he asked.
“Tired?”
I shake my head as a reply.
“What
are you doing here, getting lost in your own world again? Stop
daydreaming. I can’t guest what you’re thinking about at the moment.”
“Isn’t it’s you who love to daydream?” I ask him playfully.
“And I guess that was from Kyu?” I nod at him that has the sudden flush on his face.
“That boy really needs to get a lesson. Haish.” He said, embarrassed.
“Don’t
get mad. He is just joking around. Plus, there is nothing wrong with
daydreaming. That shows that our imagination is working.” I then chuckle
at my own words.
“Thanks for that. Anyway, let’s get the kids some snacks and drinks. They must be all tired already.”
“I
am one of ‘the kids’ too you know? I think I should just stay with the
other kids and wait for you to bring us the drink, Jungsoo-shi.”
“A-ah...deng!
Wrong. You are my assistant, so you’re not included in 'the kids'. Now,
let’s go.” He then walked off and shouts to the other kids telling them
that we are going out to buy some snacks.
*****
“We are supposed to shop some snacks for them, right?”
“Yup.” He answers innocently.
“So,
what are we doing with this?” I ask and point out at the trolley that
is full with things that you will need if you want to cook a complete
meal for a family.
He smiles sheepishly before replying.
“Since
we are already at the mart, I’m thinking of buying the groceries for my
house too. We are nearly out of stock already.” he said, and laugh awkwardly.
“What’s with the awkward laugh? I’m just asking.” I laugh at his sudden awkward expression, and then continue.
“Do you need anything else?”
“I’m done with mine. But we still didn’t buy the drinks for us and the kids.”
I laugh again at his last word.
“Why do you keep calling them ‘the kids’?” I ask.
“I don’t know too. It just comes out naturally. Kind of a nickname for them?”
“Nickname? Since I’m not included in the kids, what is mine then?”
“Yours? Hurm…you are…”
“Jungsoo hyung,” a voice called out for Jungsoo. In front of us are three boys who look so excited to meet Jungsoo.
“Oh, Min Ki-ah...what are you doing here?”
“We are buying some groceries. Wookie is going to cook today.” The boy who is called Min Ki by Jungsoo earlier answers.
“As usual.” Add the boy in the middle.
“Hyung.
Aren’t you going to introduce your girlfriend to us? It has been too
long since we last see you with a girl. How long was it again? 2? 3
years?” ask another boy.
“Yah!
What are you guys talking about? Anyway, this is Soo Il. Kim Soo Il.
Soo Il-ah, this is Kyu’s friends - Lee Min Ki, Lee Sungmin and Lee Hyuk
Jae, The Lee Trio.” Jungsoo introduce me to the boys.
“Hyung,
you shouldn’t introduce us as his friend but as your beloved dongsaengs
instead.” Said the one that was introduced as Lee Hyuk Jae.
I
laugh at his complaint. Looks like they have known each other long
enough for them to joke like this. Looking at them, I decide to go to
the drinks area first and take some drinks for the kids and let Jungsoo
stay here and continue his chat with his dongsaengs. But when I tell him
that, he tells me to wait for him and quickly excuse himself from them.
“Hyung leaves us for his girl. Hyung has change.” Sungmin fake a cry.
“Yah!
Stop that. You’re not a kid anymore. Hyung need to go now. You guys
should go too or Wookie might sulk and won’t cook for tonight.” They all
laugh together after Jungsoo said that. I just let out a smile since I
don’t really understand the joke.
“Arasso,
hyung. Let’s meet again next time. Soo Il-shi, nice to meet you.
Annyeong hyung.” Said Min Ki while waving goodbye to us.
I
just look at Jungsoo who is smiling to them. When they are far enough
from us, he then push the trolley and head to the drink
section.
“You didn’t deny it when they call me your girlfriend.” I finally said.
“Huh? You are not then? Cause I though you are.” He said bluntly. Expression? Zero.
I hit his arm lightly. I know he is joking.
“What?” he said, and then he laughs.
“That’s going to be your new nickname starting from today. Nae yeochin.” He adds, looking at me.
“Stop
it.” I said and laugh at him. Seeing me so amused, he laugh too. Deep
inside me, I’m relieved he stops the joke. My heart can’t endure it
anymore. Doesn’t he know how crazy my heart is beating right now? Well,
who won’t when a guy like him says that, straight in your face.
