He’s sitting at the café’s
table, waiting for her. They’ve promised to have their lunch together today. She
texted him awhile ago saying that she’ll be a bit late. There’s a discussion
she need to attend.
Sitting there, alone, he
can’t help but to remember, again, what had happened three days ago. To be
honest, that moment has been played in his mind for countless time, in this
past three days.
[Jungsoo’s
POV]
“Park Jungsoo.” She calls.
I turn to her and stand
there, waiting for her but she didn’t even move a step. When I start to walk to
her, she stops me.
“Stay there.” She said,
and adds,
“It’ll be awkward, very
awkward to say what I’m going to say. So, it’s better if you just stay there.”
I can see her inhale and
exhale – trying to calm herself maybe. After keep inhaling and exhaling for few
times, she suddenly speak.
“Okay, this IS awkward. I
feel really awkward even just by thinking of it.”
“Take your time,” I said
“Fuhhh…” she exhales
again.
“Okay...this is the
first time ever I’m saying this kind of things. You confessed. Now, it’s my
turn.” She stops for awhile, before continue,
“Honestly, I can’t say
that I love you. At least, not like how you love me. All this time, getting to
know you, there is something. But, I don’t know if that something is what you
call love. I’ve never fall in love before so I don’t know how it’s like. But,
what I know is, when you’re around, my day is brighter, when you’re around, I feel
inspired and always in high-spirit. When you weren’t around, I wonder where you
are, what are you doing and how are you doing. Maybe that’s not the case when I
first know you. But, after a while, that’s how I feel. So…” she said, in one
breath.
“So?” I asked.
“Let’s give this a try.”

of Jungsoo POV]
His thought of that
night fade when he hears a ‘finger-snap’ sound in front of him. Only a few
moments later did he realizes that Soo Il is sitting on the other side of the
table, waving furiously at him.
“Ohh…you are here?” he
asks.
“Pheww…you’re back? I thought
your soul has been taken by the alien.”
He laughs.
“When did you come?”
“Just now. What’ve you
been thinking? You don’t even hear me when I call you.”
“You’re worried?” he asks,
anticipating her answer.
“A bit…heheh.” She replied.
He shouldn’t have anticipated
that, he thought. He pinched her cheek and add,
“A bit? Only a bit?”
“Why?” she asks,
brushing the side that was pinched by him earlier.
“My dear Park
Jungsoo-shi, you’re sitting soundly there, drown in your thought, with that big
smile of yours pasted on. Which part of that scene do I have to worry at? The only
thing that I’ve been worrying is if that you’ve gone mad.”
“What if I was really
taken by the alien?”
“You are seriously
asking me that?” she rolls her eyes.
She was taking out
something from her backpack when he suddenly blurt out.
“I love you, Soo Il.”
“I know.” She replies.
“That’s all?” he asks.
“Why? There’s anything I
need to say?”
Giving her a weak smile,
he reply,
“Ani. Nothing. Now, let’s
eat. I’m hungry.”
When he was going to
stand up, she stops him.
“Today
is my treat.” She said and put two lunchboxes on the table.
“You
made this?” he asks.
“Yepp…this
one is yours.” She said and put the white one in front of him and pulls the
blue one towards her.
“Can I expect
something from this?” he asks her.
“Don’t
expect too much.” She said, taking out two pairs of chopstick this time.
“Not
even a small heart from peas?”
“I’ve
told you. Don’t expect too much. Now, let’s eat or you are going to be late.”
He pouts
and opens his lunchbox.
He froze.
Since she
warned him, he really didn’t expect anything. But this is a BIG thing. He looks
up at Soo Il and see that girl, who is so busy playing with the cherry tomato in
her lunchbox. He stands up, move forward a bit, and kiss her cheek.
“I love
you too.” He said and sits back.
“I
know.” She replies, and smiles shyly.
She looks
up and saw Jungsoo taking out his phone and takes a picture of his lunchbox
with it. She’s surprised when Jungsoo suddenly looks up at her. He pinched her
blushed cheek and say to her,
“You
know what? Even though I used to think that I’ll be okay without it, I don’t think
I will anymore. You should start saying these words too.”
Soo Il
is going to reply when he add,
“Including
the ‘Jungsoo oppa’ part.” He give her a BIG big smile and start to eat his
lunch.
“I’ll
eat this as much as I love you.” He said, before he takes an egg roll and put
it in his mouth, leaving the girl in front of him speechless. But, after a
moment he smiles at her dorky boyfriends’ act.
‘I love you, Jungsoo oppa.’
